What It Means To Truly Confess Christ
WHAT IT MEANS TO TRULY CONFESS CHRIST
The Word of God declares in 1 John 4 verse 2 “Hereby know ye the Spirit of God, every spirit that confesseth that Jesus C…hrist is come in the flesh is of God.” Certainly, God’s elect acknowledge that Jesus did once physically live in a body of flesh and bone. But this verse is teaching something much more than just that. The word confesseth is the translation of the Greek word homologeho (Strong’s 3670) which is composed of two Greek words, homoo, (Strong’s 3674) sometimes translated as together and logos (Strong’s 3056) almost always translated as word. We can then see, this verse is teaching us a very important Spiritual truth. Namely, to truly confess Jesus Christ means that His life is made manifest in us so that we are together in agreement with what His Word (the Bible) says. Those who say the Bible is not the perfect Word of God, or that the Biblical time line is in error, or that the church age did not end on May 21, 1988, or that the unsaved suffer forever in a literal place called hell, or that Christ paid for sin at Calvary’s cross, or that judgment day did not begin on May 21, 2011, or that the day of salvation continues, or that we are not to prophesy again to all nations and to all people, are not, according to the Bible, confessing Jesus Christ. May God be only and always magnified.
